Job Summary
To enable each child/student to pursue an education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of his/her regular teacher.
Essential Duties
- Reports to the School Office upon arrival at school to sign-in.
- Reviews with the substitute plans, attendance forms, and schedules to be followed during the teaching day and will contact the office with questions.
- Teaches the lessons outlined in the absent teacher’s lesson plan.
- Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practices dictates.
- Assumes responsibility for pupil behavior in class during lunch and recess periods, and during fire of other disaster drills.
- Lists assignments made and evaluates student’s work.
- Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must possess a high school diploma (or GED), an associate degree, or a bachelor’s degree. Minimum age shall be eighteen (18) years of age. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
