Job Summary
To provide a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
Essential Duties
- Complies with assignment and extracurricular duties outlined by the teacher/principal.
- Complies with all School Board Policies and state laws relative to special education or general education classroom operations (i.e. confidentiality).
- Assists the teacher in implementing daily and long-range lesson plans, Individualized Educational Plans (IEP) services and other instructional related assignments.
- Assists the teacher in preparation of classroom materials and acquires resources within the school as needed for students.
- Assists the teacher in the providing for the individual needs, abilities, and interests of the students, (i.e. life skills, self-help skills, organizational skills).
- Assist students with daily life activities as needed
- Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may assign.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must be a high school graduate and demonstrated an aptitude for the working with children/students with disabilities. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
