Job Summary
To provide a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
Essential Duties
- Prepares for classroom activities under the supervision of a licensed teacher.
- Works with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
- Assists individual children in need of special attention.
- Performs classroom clerical duties.
- Grade independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the teacher.
- Assists teacher with non-instructional classroom duties such as snack time, bathroom time, lunchroom, and activity periods.
- Set up audio-visual equipment and other instructional material.
- Assist in reviewing student work turned in to be reviewed and checked.
- Assist in drill work.
- Assists with reading and storytelling.
- Participate in an in-service training program.
- Assists teacher in duties relating to the supervision of playground, cafeteria, and bus loading activities.
- Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may assign.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must be a high school graduate and demonstrated an aptitude for the work to be performed. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
